Have you returned your 2010 census form?
$4 trillion in federal funds are on the line, and without accurate population counts, your community could lose out.
Already turned in your form? Urge others to do the same. Low income populations are the least likely to respond to the census form, yet they stand to gain the most. Visit “Nonprofits Count” for resources on how to promote the census to your friends, neighbors, and clients. Why?
- The census helps planners determine where to build hospitals, schools, restaurants, and grocery stores.
- The census determines how many representatives our state will get in Congress.
- The census brings federal funding: “each person counted in 2000 helped Alabama to receive $1,269.33 in federal funds.”
As of today, Alabama’s participation rate is only 15 percent – 5 percent below average.
Help Alabama be above average. Take 10 minutes and return your census today.
