Yoruba Butler

Yoruba serves in the capacity of the Strategy Director for Postsecondary Access with Alabama Possible. In this capacity she leads the Alabama Goes to College campaign and its services, supports stewardship of relationships with postsecondary stakeholders, including Alabama State Department of Education, Alabama Community College System, Alabama Commission on Higher Education, K-12 educators, college and university administrators and postsecondary access providers. Most recently, Yoruba was with Miles College for almost 11 years where she served in the capacity of director of student success and retention, first year enrichment, and was the program manager for the intelligence community center of academic excellence.

Though she is not originally from the Southeast, she calls it home now. Yoruba was born in Arizona and was raised predominantly in California. She is a proud HBCU alumnae, having graduated from Hampton University, in Hampton, VA. After college, she returned to California to attend Pepperdine University for her masters. In her spare time, Yoruba enjoys spending time with family, friends, and pursuing educational opportunities. She also serves in various capacities at her church.
