Thanks to the Alabama Commission on Higher Education (ACHE), schools across Alabama can gain access to student by student FAFSA completion data as part of their FAFSA Completion Project. This data is essential to helping counselors increase completion and ensure students fully submitted their FAFSA and are not missing key information.
How to Access the Portal
Once activated in the portal, all users submitted with the agreement will receive an email with log-in instructions.
Private and Charter Schools
Alabama private and charter schools must submit their student data to the ACHE in order to match FAFSA completion data by student record.
Step 1: Sign and Submit the Confidentiality and Use Agreement
Step 2: Compile Student Data
Schools should add the following information to an excel doc for their 12th grade students:
- First Name
- Middle Initial
- Last Name
- Social Security Number
- Date of Birth
Step 3: Encrypt the Data to Send via Email
Due to the sensitive nature of the file, schools must encrypt the data. Schools should contact ACHE’s Nikesha Ross at Nikesha.Ross@ache.alabama.gov for instructions about how to encrypt the data.
If your school uses Outlook:
- Type [ENCRYPT] into the subject line of the email. To add an email subject, enter a space after [ENCRYPT] and type the subject
Step 4: Send the encrypted data to ACHE
Please send your data in the encrypted email to ACHE’s Ron Leonard at Ron.Leonard@ache.alabama.gov.
If you have questions about encryption, please contact Nikesha.Ross@ache.alabama.gov.
