After FAFSA Submission, What’s Next?

  • Students can access a FAFSA Submission Summary within one to three days of filing the FAFSA. This will be where students will receive an estimate of their Student Aid Index (SAI) in addition to an estimate of their Pell Grant eligibility. 
  • Students can make corrections after the application is processed, if needed.
  • Students may receive official correspondence regarding their financial aid in two scenarios: 
    1. If a student is selected for verification, follow instructions provided or contact institution financial aid office.  
    2. A student will receive offers or award letters from their desired institutions. 
  • Keep a record of due dates (i.e. external and institutional scholarships)
  • Respond immediately from all emails received from an “@studentaid.gov” account. 
  • Continue to visit studentaid.gov to receive official information on the FAFSA.
