Dear Friends,
You break down barriers to prosperity in Alabama with your volunteerism, philanthropy, and advocacy. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the $90,374 that people like you gave to Alabama Possible this year. Your gifts mean we are more than 90 percent of the way to our goal of $100,000.
Thanks to you, more than 400 low-income, minority, and first-generation college-going students like Micah Holloway, Jordan Clevenger, and Kristin Ray will have access to resources and relationships to earn postsecondary credentials through the Blueprints College Success Initiative.
Your support ensures the success of the Cash for College Campaign, which resulted in the nation’s ninth largest increase in Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completion. Seniors at more than 300 high schools will receive information and hands-on assistance completing their financial aid form.
Hundreds of college students will have an opportunity to learn how to connect their community service with the long-term causes of poverty and hunger through training events like Hungry for Justice.
And more than 1,500 Alabamians will experience what it is like to live at or near the poverty line through the poverty simulation.
Thank you,
Kristina Scott, Executive Director
