BAILEY, DR. WILFORD S. age 79, died Saturday, October 7, 2000. He dedicated his life to Auburn University, Intercollegiate Athletics, his church and family. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cratus Hester Bailey; two sisters, Freda Nance (Harold) of Lawrenceburg TN and Frances B. Watson of Auburn; two sons, W. Edward Bailey (Cheryl) of Rye, NY, Joe S. Bailey (Wanda) of Auburn; two daughters, Margaret B. Newcomb (Will) of Charlottesville, VA and Sara B. Clark of Atlanta, GA; and eight grandchildren.
Burial will be private. A memorial service will be held at the Auburn Church of Christ, 712 South College Street, Auburn at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2000.
The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the memorial service.
